Are you shipping pigs out-of-province?


Producers shipping out-of-province are reminded to please submit any swine manifests to Alberta Pork within 48 hours of the movement. For out-of-province shipping, this is the responsibility of the producer, not the packer.


The current spread of porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) in Manitoba and the potential spread of any foreign animal disease, like African Swine Fever (ASF), anywhere in Canada, poses an ongoing threat to the Alberta pork industry. Traceability is crucial for having complete and timely information to help combat the spread of disease, and manifests are the most important part of that process.


Producers shipping to any of the locations below must ensure Alberta Pork receives a copy of the manifest for any movement within 48 hours:

  • Rocana Meats (Salmon Arm, B.C.)

  • Thunder Creek Pork (Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan)

  • Maple Leaf Foods (Brandon, Manitoba)

  • P. Quintaine & Son – direct (Brandon, Manitoba)

  • HyLife (Neepawa, Manitoba)

  • Parks Livestock (Blumenort, Manitoba)

  • Country Meat & Sausage (Blumenort, Manitoba)

  • Any U.S. destination – to farm or for slaughter

Before submitting your manifest, please confirm that all information is complete and accurate for the ‘Shipper’ and ‘Transporter’ sections. Completed manifests can be submitted by email to [email protected] or faxed to 1-888-715-4563.
