OTTAWA, ONTARIO – Lasalle, Quebec-based Levitts Foods Inc. issued a recall of Compliments brand smoked beef pastrami on Nov. 22 due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The product has been sold in Alberta, Ontario and Nova Scotia and possibly distributed in other provinces and territories.
The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products, and warns consumers not to eat the following product:
Compliments brand Smoked Beef Pastrami in 175-gram package, UPC 0 68820 13360 5 with a best before date code “BEST BEFORE 2020/DE/25 and establishment code, EST 48.
